The 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments – Our last defense against the tyranny of Police State.
So much of the discussion and discourse about our constitution focuses on the 1st Amendment – our right to free speech and the 2nd Amendment – our right to bear arms.
The 1st and 2nd Amendments are very important – indeed crucial – to our way our life! Yet the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments are our last line of defense.
The 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments speak to the rights of the people in their interactions with police, while in custody and during trial. Many people overlook these rights because they believe anyone in custody, on trial or interacting with police are criminals. When people invoke their rights under the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments others call those rights technicalities.
Constitutional rights are not technicalities! They are fundamental to our way of life.
